Official Statement Regarding Kenny Harris

Thursday, September 01, 2005

On behalf of the family of Kenny Harris, Valparaiso University Men's Basketball Head Coach Homer Drew has today issued the following statement regarding Kenny Harris (Griffith, Ind./Griffith H.S.):

?We are very pleased with the progress of Kenny Harris, who is working diligently with speech and physical therapists from his home in Griffith, Indiana. Kenny will not be taking any additional classes during the Fall 2005 semester at Valparaiso University as he is going to work to complete courses from the spring semester. Kenny visited campus Monday, August 29, to meet with teammates and coaches. It was wonderful for all of us to see him here again."

Harris was hospitalized April 11, 2005 after collapsing while participating in supervised weight training exercises.
