Head coach Homer Drew announced today that Arden Skoglund (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins) has decided to leave the Valparaiso men's basketball team in order to pursue other opportunities in music and youth ministry.

“Arden has been blessed with a multitude of talents," said Drew. “One of the areas he is gifted in is music. His decision will allow him to pursue many opportunities that he would have not otherwise been able to pursue due to the time commitment and energy required by basketball. Arden is the type of person who will be successful in whatever he does."

“I have not had an entire team that I have been as close to as this one," said Skoglund. “I have thoroughly enjoyed playing basketball here at Valpo. I just feel like God is calling me to do other things in music and youth ministry at this time."
