Sunday, February 10, 2008

Valparaiso will face Miami (Ohio) at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 23 as part of the sixth annual O’Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters event at the Athletics-Recreation Center.  The game will be televised nationally on ESPN Classic, the second game the Crusaders will host on an ESPN network this season.

The Crusaders are currently 14-9 overall while Miami sits at 12-10 on the season.  It will mark the first time the two squads have ever met on the hardwood.  Valpo is 2-0 against Mid-American foes on the season, having defeated Ball State and Western Michigan earlier this season, while Miami is 0-1 versus Horizon League opponents this year.  Valpo previously hosted a game on February 5 on ESPN2 against nationally-ranked Butler, a game which drew a record crowd of 5,432 spectators to the Athletics-Recreation Center.

The Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame banquet scheduled for Saturday the 23rd will now be held at 11 a.m. at Strongbow's.  The tip time for the women's game earlier that day against Wright State remains 1:35 p.m.
