Igbavboa Named to Preseason All-League Squad

Crusader senior forward Urule Igbavboa (Oakdale, Minn./Tartan) has been named to the Horizon League’s preseason Second Team All-League squad.

Igbavboa, who started all 36 games last year for Valpo as a junior, is coming off a season where he averaged 11.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, the latter mark ranking second in the Horizon League.  He pulled down 263 total rebounds last year, the seventh-most in a single season in Crusader history.  He ranks third all-time at Valpo with a career field goal percentage of 56.0%, and also ranks among Valpo’s career top-20 with 531 rebounds.

UIC’s Josh Mayo was tabbed the league’s preseason player of the year, while J’Nathan Bullock (Cleveland State), Cedric Jackson (CSU), Vaughn Duggins (Wright State) and Matt Howard (Butler) were also named to the first team.  Igbavboa was joined on the second team by Mike Schachtner (Green Bay), J.R. Blount (Loyola), Todd Brown (WSU) and Scott VanderMeer (UIC).
