Valparaiso men’s basketball head coach Bryce Drew announced today that senior Cameron Witt (Launceston, Tasmania, Australia/Launceston) will not compete during the 2011-2012 season in order to focus on finishing his degree.  Witt will not apply for a redshirt year, thus completing his Valpo career.

“In meetings with Cam and our staff, we came to a mutual understanding that it would be best for Cam and for the basketball program to have him focus on his academic work,” said Drew.

Witt will remain in school and on scholarship for the upcoming academic year, on pace to graduate in May of 2012.  Witt appeared in 72 games over his three years of play, scoring 203 points and grabbing 103 rebounds, and started nine games as a freshman.
