The Horizon League has reached an agreement with the American Sports Network (ASN) to provide supplemental national television coverage of Horizon League basketball this season, the league announced on Tuesday.

ASN will produce 10 Horizon League men’s basketball games, including eight conference matchups, during the 2014-15 season. All nine Horizon League members will appear on ASN at least once.

“We are excited to be partnering with Sinclair Broadcast Group and the American Sports Network to provide additional broadcast offerings to Horizon League and college basketball fans,” Horizon League Commissioner Jon LeCrone said.

With 162 television stations nationwide, ASN is available to approximately 43.4 million households. ASN affiliates in states with Horizon League institutions include Flint-Saginaw-Bay City (WBSF), Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo (WWMT-2), Cincinnati (WSTR), Columbus (WSYX-2), Dayton (WRGT-2), Toledo (WNWO-2), Wheeling-Steubenville (WTOV-3), Milwaukee (WCGV), Madison (WMSN-2), Green Bay-Appleton (WCWF), Springfield-Champaign-Decatur (WBUI), Peoria-Bloomington (WHOI-2). ASN is operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Selected games may receive additional distribution via other local affiliates and/or regional sports networks, including CSN in Chicago. Individual game clearances will be listed on HorizonLeague.com the week prior to each contest.

The 10 men’s basketball games adds to the Horizon League’s previously announced national television package that includes at least 25 games on the ESPN family of networks.

Last season, the Horizon League saw five men’s basketball teams earn postseason bids, one year after sending a record six. Over the last 14 years, Horizon League teams have compiled a 19-14 record in the NCAA Tournament.
