Valparaiso University senior Alec Peters (Washington, Ill./Washington) was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the Associated Press on Tuesday, his second straight season earning the accolade from the AP. Peters also appeared as one of the others receiving votes on the NCAA’s consensus All-America selections.
The NCAA currently determines consensus All-America selections based on teams from four entities: the Associated Press, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association, the National Association of Basketball Coaches, and the Sporting News. The four are combined for a consensus First Team and Second Team. Peters was one of seven to be listed among the others receiving votes outside of the top-10, based on his selection to the NABC Third Team All-America squad.
