With men’s and women’s basketball season quickly approaching, Valpo Athletics announced today the department’s broadcast plans for the 2017-18 season.

Men’s home games which have been selected for linear television will feature Todd Ickow and Dave Huseman on the radio flagship of the Crusaders, WVUR [95.1 FM, Valparaiso].

All other men’s home games will feature Ickow and Huseman exclusively on The Valley on ESPN3, with student broadcast talent providing the radio call. As in the past, when the Crusaders are on the road, Ickow will be joined by either Huseman or media relations contact Aaron Leavitt on radio.

Ickow and Huseman will be lending their voices to The Valley on ESPN3 on play-by-play for Valpo women’s basketball as well. They will be joined by analysts Renee’ Turpa – a longtime fixture in the Northwest Indiana basketball community – and Jamie (Gutowski) Stangel – a 2006 alum of the Crusader women’s program who helped her teams to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances.

Student broadcasters will continue to provide the radio calls for Crusader women’s basketball home games and will be joined on the road by media relations contact Brandon Vickrey.
