The Valparaiso University men’s basketball program has announced plans for a Special Needs Camp, which will take place on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Athletics-Recreation Center.
Registration begins the day of the camp at 8:30 a.m. and all campers receive a t-shirt. At 9 a.m., head coach Matt Lottich will welcome campers and introduce his staff. A camp photo is slated for 9:10, followed by 15-minute stations from 9:20-10:20. A member of the Valpo staff will instruct each of the four stations – ball handling, shooting, passing and layups.
Participants will hold a buzzer-beater challenge at 10:25 a.m., then a snack/water break will occur at 10:45 with fruit, cliff bars, sandwiches and small waters available. At 11 a.m., attendees will have a Q&A session with Valpo players before they receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the Valpo locker room and team room at 11:10. Coach Lottich will close the camp at 11:25 prior to the 11:30 departure.
The camp is open to any and all entrants. The ARC is located at 1009 Union Street in Valparaiso, IN 46383. Visit https://www.valpobasketballcamps.com/ to register or for more information. For more information on the free camp, please contact Peter Funk at Peter.Funk@valpo.edu.
