Pawel Mrozik joins the Crusader coaching staff for the 2008-2009 season as its Director of Basketball Operations.
Mrozik comes to Valparaiso from Poland, where he founded Polish Shootout Basketball Services, which runs Elite Showcase camps, as well as clinics and individual workouts. In 2002, Mrozik helped organize the first-ever NCAA-certified basketball camp in Europe. In his years at Polish Shootout Basketball Services, Mrozik personally recruited and sent over 35 players to American high schools and colleges, including 14 at the NCAA level. He also had one player sign with an NBA squad.
Mrozik played two years of basketball at Western Nebraska C.C. He played a key role in helping the Cougars to the NJCAA National Tournament as a freshman, scoring 15.4 ppg and shooting 57% from behind the arc at the Regional Tournament. He put up 7.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore for the Cougars while also serving as team captain. Following his collegiate career, Mrozik played one season professionally in Poland before entering into coaching.
Mrozik earned his Associate's degree in Business Administration from Western Nebraska in 2002, and went on to earn a Bachelor's in Business Management from Polish Open University, rated the #1 Polish non-public business school, in 2006. He is currently working towards a Master's in Sports Administration at Valparaiso.
Mrozik and his wife, Malgorzata (Gosia), currently reside in Valparaiso along with their 4-year-old son, Filip.
