Migel Nunnery joined the Valparaiso men's basketball program in April of 2010 as director of community relations. His duties include scheduling all player/coach appearances within the community and immediate surrounding areas.
Before arriving at Valparaiso, Nunnery spent the last two years working in the NBA with the Houston Rockets (Corporate Development) and the Chicago Bulls (Community Relations). Nunnery was a member of the football team at Western Michigan University (2002-2005) and assisted in the strength and conditioning of five NFL draft picks.
A native of the region, Nunnery attended Gary Roosevelt H.S., where he was a member of the National Honor Society and played on the football and basketball teams under Indiana Hall of Fame’s Winston Garland and Ron Heflin. He was an All-Conference and All-County honoree as a senior both on the gridiron and on the hardwood, and also an All-State selection on the football field.
Nunnery earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in sales and business marketing from Western Michigan. He is pursuing his master's degree in sports administration at Valparaiso.
