Ben Boggs is in his first season as a graduate manager for the Valparaiso men's basketball program after completing his eligibility last season with the Crusaders.
Boggs helped the Crusaders to the Horizon League regular season and tournament championships and a berth in the NCAA Tournament as a senior, appearing in 33 games and making 20 starts. The Roanoke, Va. native averaged 5.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in 2012-2013, and closed his career with a team-best 15 points in the NCAA Tournament against Michigan State.
In his first year in a Crusader uniform, Boggs became eligible in December and made 24 appearances, including 20 starts. Boggs averaged 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds per game as a junior as Valpo captured its first Horizon League regular season title.
Prior to arriving at Valpo, Boggs played at Virginia Tech, appearing in 29 games over two seasons before transferring to become a Crusader. Boggs earned his bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso in sports management, and is currently working towards a master's degree in sports administration. A success in the classroom during his basketball career as well, Boggs was an ACC All-Academic Team and Horizon League Academic Honor Roll selection, and also was named to the NABC Honors Court.
