Crusader Men Finish 11th at Notre Dame Invitational

The Valparaiso men's cross country team finished 11th at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Crusaders finished with 309 points, while Hillsdale was the meet champion.

Matt Blume (Logansport, Ind./Pioneer H.S.) led the Crusaders with a 33rd place finish, crossing the line in 26:23. Dennis Kabara (Chuka, Kenya/Mero H.S.) and Doug Brown (Lima, Ohio/Allen East H.S.) were 50th and 51st respectively. Kabara finished with a time of 26:47, while Brown was two seconds behind. Adam Piaskowy (Crete, Ill./Crete Monee H.S.) finished fourth for the Brown and Gold with his 86th place finish in a time of 27:26, and Mark Landmeier (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles H.S.) rounded out the scoring in 106th place, crossing the finish line in 27:55.

The Crusaders that did not compete in South Bend will travel to Loyola for the Lakefront Invitational on Saturday.
