Crusader Men Finish Fourth at Evansville

Valparaiso placed all five scoring runners in the top-30 on Saturday afternoon as the Crusaders earned a fourth place finish as a team at the Evansville Invitational.

Mike Brouch (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy) led the way for the Brown and Gold with a time of 26:50.25 over the eight-kilometer course to earn a 13th place finish. Jim Turchyn (Batesville, Ind./Batesville H.S.) was five places behind with a mark of 27:09.

Leandro Schultz (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights H.S.) finished 24th overall with a time of 27:24 while his brother, Adriano Schultz (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights H.S.) was two places back and three seconds behind. Rich Krupar (Elyria, Ohio/Midview H.S.) rounded out Valpo's scorers with his 28th place finish, crossing the finish line in 27:33.

Valparaiso will take next weekend off before hosting the Mid-Continent Conference Championships on October 29 at Sunset Hills Farm. The men's race begins at 10 a.m.
