Valpo Men Finish 12th at Butler Fall Invitational

Valparaiso shot 308 on Tuesday for the 11th best round of the day, but finished the Butler Fall Invitational in 12th place overall for 54 holes at Eagle Creek Golf Course in Indianapolis, Ind.

Valpo finished eight shots ahead of IUPUI with a total of 919, but trailed Bradley by 15 strokes.  Green Bay won the event at eight under-par 844 on the 6,675-yard, par-71 layout.

 

Austin Gaugert (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger H.S.) and Brad Winters (Elgin, Ill./Saint Edward H.S.) led the Crusaders in the final round, each carding a 75.  Gaugert finished second overall for the Crusaders at 231.

Michael Hesselman (Janesville, Wis./Edgerton H.S.) led the Crusaders for the tournament shooting 224 after posting a 78 in the final round.  He tied for 38th overall in the tournament.

Valparaiso will return to action in two weeks to close the fall slate at the Dayton Fall Invitational in Kettering, Ohio on October 19-20.
