Valpo Moves Up, Finishes Seventh at Kentucky
Thomas Wettstein shared the team's low final round score of 72.

Valparaiso shot 292 as a team on Sunday and moved up one place in the team standings to finish seventh overall at the UK Bluegrass Invitational held at the University Club of Kentucky Big Blue Course in Lexington, Ky.

The host Wildcats of Kentucky won the team title at 864 (296-281-287), two strokes ahead of Dayton.  Valpo finished the tournament at 892 (301-299-292).

Kyle Henning (Brookfield, Wis./East H.S.) paced the Crusaders with a final round 72 to finish at 213 (+6) and finish in a tie for 13th overall.  Thomas Wettstein (Neenah, Wis./Xavier H.S.) also carded a one-over par 72 on the final day to share the team’s low final round score.  Wettstein finished at 226 for the tournament.

Austin Gaugert (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger H.S.) and Brad Winters (Elgin, Ill./Saint Edward H.S.) both shot 74 on Sunday over the 6,988-yard, par-71 layout, and the duo both finished at 224 for the weekend.

Andy Webb (Bedford, Ind./North Lawrence H.S.) added a 75 to round out the scorers for the Brown and Gold finishing at 238.  Josh Kalita (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) also shot 75 on Sunday playing as an individual and finished at 230 for the tournament.

Marshall’s Bosten Miller won the individual title, finishing at two-under par 211 (69-71-71), three shots ahead of Kentucky’s Cody Martin.

Valparaiso will return to action October 3-4 at the Butler Fall Invitational.
