After his third consecutive tournament with a top-two finish, Valparaiso University sophomore Anthony Delisanti (Sanborn, N.Y. / Niagara Wheatfield) is once again the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week.

This represents Delisanti’s fourth career weekly honor and his third this season. He garnered his third consecutive top-2 finish at this week’s Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, hosted by Arkansas State at the par-72, 6565-yard RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro, Ark.

Delisanti posted a 54-hole score of 210 (-6, 72-69-69) to share individual runner-up honors in a competitive 69-player field. He helped the Beacons finish third in the 11-team field behind only host Arkansas State, which has qualified for the last three NCAA Regionals and won its home tournament in eight straight years, and NCAA D-II No. 6 Oklahoma Christian. As a team, Valpo’s winning percentage is up to .788 (41-11) on the season, while Delisanti owns a .966 winning percentage this year. 

In addition, the first GolfStat rankings of the season were released this week. As a team, Valpo is ranked No. 123 nationally and second in the Missouri Valley Conference. Individually, Delisanti is ranked No. 105 in the nation while teammate Caleb VanArragon is No. 106, the highest pair of individual rankings in program history.
