VanArragon Earns MVC Good Neighbor Award

Valparaiso University men’s golf senior Caleb VanArragon (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine) was named a recipient of the Missouri Valley Conference State Farm Good Neighbor Award on Tuesday, adding to his long list of accomplishments and accolades.

In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport during the season of recognition. 

VanArragon’s community involvement includes work with the Minnesota Junior PGA and Valpo LuMin while serving as a math/stats tutor, a stats teaching assistant and a biology lab aide. In the classroom, he is a three-time MVC Elite 17 Award Winner, three-time MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, three-time CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-District recipient and has earned the 2023 Valpo Laurel Award for the graduating senior student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average. He graduated summa cum laude from Valpo with a perfect 4.0 GPA and a double major in biology and statistics.

In competition, VanArragon is a 2023 NCAA Regional at-large qualifier, a four-time All-MVC selection, the 2019-20 MVC Newcomer of the Year and led the conference while setting a modern program record for single-season scoring average this season at 71.08.
