Valparaiso University's Jeff Oleck (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral H.S.) has been selected as the Mid-Continent Conference Defensive Player of the Week after posting a shutout for the Crusaders on Sunday afternoon.

The junior goalkeeper made seven saves for the Brown and Gold helping Valpo post its first Mid-Con victory of the season against IUPUI. With the win, the Crusaders have climbed into fourth place in the league standings.

The shutout was the second of the season for Oleck and the ninth of his career. He ranks second on Valpo's career shutout charts.

On the season, Oleck has posted a 1.58 goals against average and a .769 save percentage in nearly 1200 minutes between the posts.

Oleck is the second Crusader to earn Player of the Week honors this season, as John Brighton (Warner Robins, Ga./Houston County H.S.) earned offensive accolades on October 4.
