The Valparaiso men’s soccer team got its exhibition season underway Wednesday evening at Brown Field against Saint Joseph’s (Ind.), but just over 12 minutes in, Mother Nature took control for good, as a line of severe weather combined with diminishing daylight forced the contest between the Crusaders and the Pumas to be canceled.

The game, one of three scheduled exhibition tilts for the Crusaders prior to the start of the regular season, will not be made up.  Valpo will next take to Brown Field this Saturday, August 22, as the Crusaders host Big East side Marquette at 5 p.m.
