Valpo Shutout by Butler

Nick Pantazi scored twice in the first half to lead Butler past Valparaiso 2-0 Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis, Ind.

Pantazi headed home a corner kick in the 21st minute to give the Bulldogs an early lead and took a long Scott Olsen pass and scored at 42:02 to account for the only scoring in the match.

Butler outshot the Crusaders 15-9 for the match, but Valpo held a 5-3 advantage on corner kicks. Marc Cilfone (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage H.S.) made six stops for Valpo while Grant Barrie made five saves between the pipes for Butler (4-7-1).

Valparaiso (3-7-1) will return to action on Friday afternoon when the Crusaders travel to Kansas City for a 4 p.m. conference tilt with UMKC.
