Owen Hoyt (Spring Grove, Ill./Prairie Ridge H.S.) helped Valparaiso to its first victory of the season over the weekend, and in the process was named the Mid-Continent Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

The junior forward scored in both conference matches this past weekend. His tally against UMKC on Friday tied the match at one and ended the Crusaders 584:57 scoreless drought. On Sunday against Centenary, Hoyt scored the first goal of the match, which Valpo went on and won 3-2.
