Crusaders Fall at Western Michigan
Sunday, September 18, 2005
Valparaiso took 17 shots Sunday afternoon, but couldn't find the back of the net with any of them, as the Crusaders came out on the short end of a 1-0 decision to Western Michigan at Kalamazoo, Mich.

The Broncos scored the lone goal of the match in the 33rd minute of play. Dustin Snyder took a hard shot that found the upper right corner of the goal to give Western Michigan (2-3) a lead they would not relinquish.

The Brown and Gold never surrendered, taking 11 shots in the final 45 minutes of play in an attempt to tie the match. Brent Miller made six saves, including four in the second half, to earn the shutout for the Broncos. Sean McGinnis (Barrington, Ill./Barrington H.S.) made five saves for the Crusaders in the losing effort.

Valparaiso (1-5) returns to the friendly confines of Eastgate Field on Saturday afternoon to begin Mid-Continent Conference play. The match against UMKC is scheduled to kick off at noon.
