Catrow Named to Soccer Times National Weekly Honor Roll
Thursday, September 7, 2006
The honors keep rolling in for the Crusader men's soccer team, ranked sixth in the NSCAA Midwest Region, as today senior forward D.J. Catrow (Springfield, Ohio/Catholic Central) has been named to the Soccer Times National Weekly Honor Roll for his play at the Copa de Causeway Tournament in California.

Catrow drove home four goals at the two-match tournament, two apiece at UC-Davis and Sacramento State, and was named the Mid-Con's Offensive Player of the Week. The senior is one of only five Crusaders with at least 10 career goals and 10 career assists, and his 35 career points leave him just three shy of the Crusaders' all-time top 10 list.

Last week, sophomore Paul Leitelt (Munster, Ind./Munster) was named the Soccer Times National Player of the Week, along with several other national and conference honors, and he and Catrow now sit tied atop the Mid-Con with four goals this season.

Each week during the year, Soccer Times awards both a National Player of the Week, a Best of the Rest honoree and a national honor roll. Valpo is the only team in the country to have two players honored by the publication this season.

Catrow and the Crusaders (3-1), off to their best start since 1987, begin a stretch of four straight home matches Friday evening against Western Michigan at 4:30 p.m. That match, and Sunday's 1:00 p.m. match against Buffalo, will be carried live on 95.1 FM, WVUR, and online at www.valpo.edu/athletics.
