On a gorgeous late-August night at Brown Field in front of a good crowd, the Valparaiso men's soccer program closed out preseason play with an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday evening. The end result saw the Gold and White sides fight to a 1-1 draw.

Kelvin Zelee (South Bend, Ind./John Adams [Indiana]) found the back of the net for the Gold squad, while newcomer Guy Shabtay (Ramat-Gan, Israel/Blich [Prairie State C.C.]) cracked the scoresheet for the White side. In all, 37 players saw action in the Crusaders' final run on the pitch prior to regular season play, which begins in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 4 against UNLV in the opener of the UNLV Nike Invitational.
