Fifth-year senior Stefan Antonijevic (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Stevenson [College of Lake County/Marquette]) has been named to the NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region First Team, as released by the organization Friday morning.

Antonijevic, Valpo’s first All-Region honoree since Tony Dal Santo in 1996, earns the First Team All-Region recognition after anchoring the Crusader defense from the center back position in 2011.  Antonijevic was part of a defensive unit that surrendered a program-record low 14 goals in 20 games, including 11 shutouts.  The Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-League honoree, Antonijevic played all but 31 minutes in 2011 and also contributed offensively as well, tallying two goals and an assist on the season.

Antonijevic was one of just three defenders named to the All-Great Lakes Region First Team and was the only Horizon League player selected to either the first or second team.  With the All-Region accolade, Antonijevic is now eligible for NSCAA All-America consideration.
