Cailean Bailey is entering his second year as a member of the Valparaiso men’s soccer program’s coaching staff, and will serve as the reserve side’s head coach in 2010. Bailey also assists with on-field training and the Crusaders’ recruiting efforts, and is also responsible for editing and breakdown of game film.
Bailey assisted with the reserve squad while serving as Valpo’s director of soccer operations in 2009, helping to guide the team to a 10-2-1 mark last season while facing top junior colleges, NAIA schools and Division II and III programs.
Bailey also currently serves as the head coach of the NWI United U17 Boys squad, and also works as a goalkeeper trainer for the Indiana ODP. He owns previous coaching experience at the Jacksonville [Ill.] Soccer Club, where he coached from 2007-2008. Bailey currently holds his USSF “D” license, his NSCAA National Goalkeeping License and the NSCAA National Diploma – Distinguished Pass.
Bailey was a four-year letterwinner at Illinois College, where he served as team captain for three seasons. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and rhetorical science, as well as a bachelor’s degree in management and organizational leadership (sport), from Illinois College in 2008. Bailey completed his master’s degree in sports administration from Valparaiso in 2010.
