POSITION Director of Soccer Operations

Phil Ruskin enters his second season as a member of the Crusader men’s soccer coaching staff this year, serving as director of soccer operations after working as a volunteer assistant in 2009. Ruskin will assist in coaching both the varsity and reserve sides in 2010.

Ruskin comes to Valpo from Elmhurst College, where he was a four-year letterwinner for the Blue Jays on the pitch. He earned the team’s Golden Goal award as a senior in 2008.

Ruskin also currently serves as head coach of the NWI United U16 squad and previously has gained coaching experience with the Downers Grove Roadrunners FC, as well as conducting personal one-on-one training. He holds his USSF “D” license and the NSCAA National Diploma.

Ruskin earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from Elmhurst in 2008. He is currently working towards a master’s degree in sports administration from Valparaiso.
