Valparaiso University's Travers Smith (Huntley, Ill./Huntley H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week after posting a pair of second place finishes on Saturday against Illinois-Chicago.

The sophomore finished runner-up in both the 200 individual medley (2:00.50) and the 100 backstroke (55.18). He was a member of Valpo's second place 200 medley relay that finished with a time of 1:40.68.
