Valparaiso University's Travers Smith (Huntley, Ill./Huntley H.S.) was named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week after help post three victories in the Crusaders' 116-84 victory at Florida Southern last Friday.

The junior won the 50 freestyle by more than a second with a time of 23.21 seconds, then cruised to another triumph in the 100 backstroke in a time of 57.37 seconds. Smith then capped off his day helping lead the 200 free relay to victory in a time of 1:35.60.
