2016-17: Max took down two Valpo school records during his junior season. In the 100-back, he set the new standard at 50.66 where he finished 12th overall at the Horizon League Championships. He put up the new mark in the 200-back, as well, placing 11th at the HL Championships in 1:50.61. He entered the Valpo Top 10 list in both the 100-breast and 100-fly, going 59.79 and 52.42, respectively – both times put him tenth all-time in those races. Max also swam in the 50-free with a time of 22.46, which was fourth-best on the team. Rounding out his individual swims, he posted a time of 2:07.89 in the 200-IM. Max was also an integral part of four relays at the Horizon League Championships. He swam the backstroke leg of the 200-medley relay that went 1:34.79, which is now sixth-best all-time. Max helped the 200-free relay go 1:26.60, now tied for ninth all-time. He swam the breaststroke leg of the 400-medley relay that went 3:31.74, which is currently seventh-best all-time, and helped put up a time of 3:12.44 in the 400-free relay. Max was named team MVP for the 2016-17 season.

2015-16: Continued to pace the Valpo roster in the backstroke events ... broke his own school record in the 100 back, lowering the mark to 50.95 ... also led the team in the 200 back with a season-best time of 1:51.55 ... finished 11th at Horizon League Championships in both the 100 and 200 back events ... also posted top times during the season of 22.35 in the 50 free and 1:04.81 in the 100 breaststroke ... member of four differently relay squads which broke into Valpo's all-time top-five in their respective events ... led off 400 medley relay which posted second-fastest time in program history ... also led off a pair of 200 medley relay teams which moved into third and fifth place, respectively, on Valpo's all-time chart ... member of 200 free relay which recorded fifth-fastest time in Crusader history.

2014-15: Led the Crusaders in the backstroke events as a freshman while also seeing action in the breaststroke and the IM ... posted top times of 26.57 in the 50 back, 51.28 in the 100 back, 1:51.34 in the 200 back, 1:05.47 in the 100 breaststroke, 2:23.39 in the 200 breaststroke and 1:57.08 in the 200 IM ... ranked second on the team in the 200 IM ... set new school records in both the 100 and 200 backstrokes ... moved into fifth in program history in the 200 IM as well ... also was a member of program record-setting 200 and 400 medley relays, leading off both squads swimming the backstroke ... set both of his individual records and was a part of the record-setting 200 medley relay team at the Horizon League Championships ... qualified for 'B' finals in both the 100 and 200 back at the league championship meet, earning a ninth-place finish in the 200 and an 11th-place showing in the 100.

Prep: Team captain for the Cardinals in 2013-14...seven-time All-District, two-time All-State...four-time All-Conference...also played water polo and won state championship in 2011.
