Valparaiso ran into a tough opponent on Friday evening as the Crusaders dropped a 133-90 meet against Illinois-Chicago in Chicago.
David Kesler (Beverly Hills, Mich./Birmingham Groves H.S.) finished runner-up in the 50 freestyle with his time of 23.48 seconds.
Bob Pedersen (Urbana, Ill./Urbana H.S.) also turned in the second fastest time in the 500 freestyle with his mark of 5:01.04 as did David Peterson (Schererville, Ind./Highland H.S.) in the 100 breaststroke with his time of 1:00.33.
Valparaiso (2-8) will return to action on January 20 as the Crusaders host Cleveland State it their first home meet of the season. The first event begins at 6 p.m. at the Athletics-Recreation Center pool.
