Valparaiso freshman Gonzalo Castro Diaz (Mexico City, Mexico) has been named the Horizon League's male Swimmer of the Week after a trio of first-place finishes at Monmouth College last Saturday.

Castro Diaz entered the Crusader record book for the second time in as many meets in one of his victories, touching the wall first in the 200 individual medley in 2:00.92, matching the tenth-fastest time in Crusader history in the event.  The freshman also won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:59.56 and led off Valpo's winning 200m free relay squad, which posted a time of 1:31.07.
