Valpo: Named Valpo's Most Improved Swimmer as a freshman ... competed in freestyle events ranging from 50-500 yards ... also competed in the 100 and 200 backstroke.

Prep: A four-time All-State selection for the Eagles ... twice earned All-American honors while at Sandburg High School ... a member of five school relay records ... a member of National Honor Society ... also played water polo.

Personal: Mike is the son of Robert and Eileen Stachniak ... major is chemistry and biology ... born September 4, 2003.
