Men's Tennis Announces Another Decorated Addition for 2013-2014
Emhardt represents the fourth and final piece of one of the deepest recruiting classes in head coach Jim Daugherty's 28-year tenure at Valpo.

Head coach Jim Daugherty announced the fourth and final member of the 2013-2014 recruiting class Thursday with the addition of Charlie Emhardt (Carmel, Ind./Carmel HS).

Emhardt joins Dave Bacalla (Skokie, Ill./Niles North HS), Kyle Dunn (Fon du Lac, Wis./Fon du Lac HS), and Jeffrey Schorsch (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg HS) in a class that has already garnered national attention.

Emhardt was a catalyst behind Carmel's three consecutive IHSAA team championships.  In 2011 and 2012, he was a first team All-State Doubles selection, and, in 2012, won the IHSAA individual doubles competition with partner Daniel Rodefeld.

He is currently ranked 48th in the Boys 18 Midwest standing list to go along with his status as a three-star recruit as determined by tennisrecruiting.net.

Emhardt comes from a family rich in tennis tradition. His oldest sister, Elizabeth, played at Denison University in Ohio while his other sister, Caroline, is a member of the DePauw women's tennis team. The three combined own 10 IHSAA championship rings.
