Valparaiso men's tennis head coach Jim Daugherty has a quartet of talented newcomers joining the program next season, and on Monday, the incoming class earned national recognition, as TennisRecruiting.net tabbed the Crusaders' incoming freshman class as the #22 mid-major recruiting class nationwide.

Valpo's class, which is the only Horizon League program to receive recognition, is highlighted by Dave Bacalla, who TennisRecruiting.net has tabbed as a five-star recruit and ranks 76th in his class nationwide and seventh in the Great Lakes region. The Crusaders are also adding a pair of four-star recruits in Kyle Dunn (23rd in the Great Lakes region) and Jeffrey Schorsch (99th nationally, 13th in the Great Lakes region), as well as three-star recruit Charlie Emhardt (35th in the Great Lakes region).

The Crusaders will add the talented quartet of newcomers to a squad which was among the youngest in the nation this past season during an 11-12 campaign. Six of Valpo's eight players in 2012-2013 were freshmen, while the Crusaders will only lose one player due to graduation.
