Valparaiso University men's tennis coach Jim Daugherty has announced the addition of two players to his team for the 2007-2008 season. Joining the Crusaders are Danny Lewallen and Kyle Stump.

Lewallen played number one singles for Kankakee Valley High School each of his last three seasons, where he was the team's Most Valuable Player. A three-time First Team All-District selection, Lewallen advanced to semi-states as a senior. In addition, he earned All-State and All-Conference honors. He was also named to the All-Academic Team.

?Danny may be one of the most gifted players, both athletically and academically that Valpo has ever seen," Daugherty said. ?I am looking forward to working with Danny and watching his talent flourish."

Stump was the number one singles player for Plymouth High School as both a junior and senior. A two-time Honorable Mention All-State selection, he too was his team's Most Valuable Player. Stump was twice named to the All-District and All-Conference Teams and was a two-time team captain.

?Kyle has made remarkable progress in his tennis game over the past year," Daugherty said. ?He is definitely on the growth curve and will continue to improve and make an immediate impact on our tennis program."
