Men’s Tennis Boasts Impressive Fundraising Growth

Last fall, Valparaiso men’s tennis assistant coach Michael Woodson put out a $5,000 challenge grant to match any gifts to men's tennis from new donors. That challenge has been met and more this year.

Giving to men's tennis increased over 600% this year, and the number of supporters increased from 13 to 88.  The additional funds have been a huge asset to head coach Jim Daugherty in how the team is run. Men's tennis had their best finish since joining the Horizon League, with numerous players breaking records this season.  With a young core composed primarily of freshmen and sophomores, the team hopes to continue its improvement next year.
