Sophomores Jeffrey Schorsch (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) and Charlie Emhardt (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) gave the fifth-ranked doubles team in the nation all it could handle in their first round match against San Diego's Jordan Angus and Filip Vittek at the ITA All-American Tournament Tuesday in Tulsa.
The Crusader duo dropped the first set 6-4 before taking the second to a tiebreaker. It was there that the Torero tandem won the race to seven, claiming the match 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).
Schorsch and Emhardt will now return to Northwest Indiana as the Brown and Gold prepare for the Valparaiso Fall Invitational beginning Friday at 12:00 pm CT. The tournament will be held at the Valpo Tennis Complex.
