Spring Tennis Schedules Released

The Valparaiso men's and women's tennis teams released its respective schedules Tuesday.

The women open spring play versus stiff competition including two Mid-American Conference schools. The Crusaders will travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan to challenge Western Michigan on Saturday, January 17th at 6:00 pm CT before heading to Indianapolis to face Akron in a neutral-site tilt the following Saturday.

The Bradley Braves await the Brown and Gold on Saturday, February 7th in Peoria, Illinois.

Valpo will make its home debut on Friday, February 13th when Nebraska-Omaha comes to town for an 11:00 am match. The Crusaders will then turn around the next day to play host to IUPUI at 10:00 am at the Courts of NWI.

The Crusaders will travel to Phoenix, Arizona for their Spring Trip, where they'll take on Arizona Christian on Monday, March 2nd and Grand Canyon on Tuesday, March 3rd.

Horizon League play commences on Thursday, March 19th as UIC visits the Courts of NWI in a 2:00 pm match. A non-conference contest at Western Illinois has the Crusaders in Macomb, Illinois on Saturday, March 21st. Following the weekend match versus the Leathernecks, seven of Valpo's next nine matches are in league play.

Milwaukee and Green Bay come to town on April 3rd and 4th, respectively. The Crusaders will make the swing trip to Michigan to take on Detroit (Apr. 11) and Oakland (Apr. 12) before closing out regular season play in northeast Ohio the following weekend versus Cleveland State (Apr. 18) and Youngstown State (Apr. 19).

The Horizon League Championship is slated for April 24th-26th in West Lafayette, Indiana on the campus of Purdue University.

The men enjoy a spring schedule that has eight of its first eleven spring matches at home. The Crusaders open the spring at Toledo on Saturday, January 24th before hosting IPFW (Jan. 30) and IUPUI (Jan. 31) at the Courts of NWI in the final weekend of January.

Valpo will head east to Notre Dame to take on Illinois in a neutral-site match on Monday, February 2nd. The Brown and Gold will face their second Big Ten team that week when they travel to Northwestern to tackle the Wildcats on Sunday, February 8th.

Butler, SIU-Carbondale, Chicago State, Western Illinois, and Olivet Nazarene will all come to Valparaiso in a seven-day span from February 14th-21st. 

The Crusaders will return to Orlando, Florida for their Spring Trip again. Quinnipiac (Mar. 9) and Lehigh (Mar. 11) are already confirmed opponents at the Star Island Resort.

Wright State will play host to the Crusaders in their first Horizon League tilt on Saturday, March 28th. Valpo will remain in southwestern Ohio that weekend to challenge Dayton on Sunday at 9:00 am CT.

The Brown and Gold's final five matches of the regular season are all in league play. Green Bay (Apr. 4) and Detroit (Apr. 10) represent the two home contests while Valpo will battle UIC in Chicago on Sunday, April 12th. The Crusaders will close out the regular season in northeast Ohio with back-to-back matches against Cleveland State (Apr. 18) and Youngstown State (Apr. 19).

The 2015 Horizon League Men's Tennis Championship will also be held on the campus of Purdue University. Tournament play is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th through Monday, April 27th.
