The Valparaiso University men’s tennis team is represented in both the singles and doubles Oracle/ITA Men’s National Rankings, which were released for the first time this year on Wednesday.

After a successful fall season that featured an impressive run to the championship match of the USTA/ITA Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, Valpo’s top doubles duo of Charlie Emhardt (Carmel, Ind. / Carmel) and Jeffrey Schorsch (Perrysburg, Ohio / Perrysburg) is ranked 17^th in the nation. Schorsch and Emhardt were No. 55 in the preseason.

Sophomore Chad Kissell (Latrobe, Pa. / Greater Latrobe) put together a fall season that earned him a significant jump in the national rankings. Previously unranked, Kissell now checks in at No. 95 in singles. He went 7-3 during the fall.

The defending Horizon League champion Crusaders will begin their quest for a repeat trip to the NCAA Tournament when the spring season begins later this month.
