Men’s Tennis Well Represented in ITA Preseason Rankings
Chad Kissell is No. 95 in the nation in the most recent ITA rankings.

The Valparaiso University men’s tennis team is represented in both the singles and doubles Oracle/ITA Men’s National Rankings, which were released for the first time this year on Wednesday.

After a successful fall season that featured an impressive run to the championship match of the USTA/ITA Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, Valpo’s top doubles duo of Charlie Emhardt (Carmel, Ind. / Carmel) and Jeffrey Schorsch (Perrysburg, Ohio / Perrysburg) is ranked 17th in the nation. Schorsch and Emhardt were No. 55 in the preseason.

Sophomore Chad Kissell (Latrobe, Pa. / Greater Latrobe) put together a fall season that earned him a significant jump in the national rankings. Previously unranked, Kissell now checks in at No. 95 in singles. He went 7-3 during the fall.

The defending Horizon League champion Crusaders will begin their quest for a repeat trip to the NCAA Tournament when the spring season begins later this month.
