Men's Tennis Picked Third in Summit League Preseason Poll
Chad Kissell was named a Summit League Preseason Athlete to Watch this year.

The Valparaiso University men’s tennis team is projected to finish third of seven in the Summit League, according to a poll of the league’s head coaches that was released on Thursday.

Defending champion Drake was named the preseason favorite to win the league, while Denver was picked second.

Senior Chad Kissell (Latrobe, Pa. / Greater Latrobe) was tabbed a Summit League Preseason Athlete to Watch. He has earned first team all-league in each of his first three collegiate seasons and was the Horizon League Freshman of the Year in 2015-16.

Valpo will begin its second season of Summit League play on Feb. 17 after reaching the league championship match in its first year as an affiliate member in 2017-18. That marked Valpo’s fourth consecutive league championship match appearance.

The spring season begins on Jan. 25 when Valpo hosts Cardinal Stritch at 6 p.m. at Match Point Tennis Club in Griffith, the first of five straight home matches to begin the regular season.
