Crusader Men Earn Six Victories at IPFW Quadrangular
Four different athletes combined for six event victories as the Valparaiso men's track and field team continued the 2012 indoor season Saturday at the IPFW Quadrangular in Fort Wayne, Ind., facing off against Oakland and Detroit in addition to the host Mastodons.

Valparaiso seniors Jarrett Mickens (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) and Steve Schubert (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) both earned spots on the Capital One Academic All-District V First Team for men's track and field/cross country, as announced by CoSIDA Thursday morning. With the honors, both Mickens and Schubert are eligible for consideration for Academic All-American accolades.

Senior Jarrett Mickens (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) learned Wednesday that he will represent Valparaiso in the long jump at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Bloomington, Ind. on Thursday, May 26 as the NCAA released the entrants for the two preliminary round sites today.
