Crague Places 17th in 5,000m at NCAA Regional

Valparaiso University's Aaron Crague (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central H.S.) finished in 17th place at the NCAA Mideast Regional on Friday evening in Columbus, Ohio.

The fifth-year senior crossed the finish line in a time of 14:40.76 to close his collegiate career. Boaz Cheboiywo of Eastern Michigan won the race with a time of 13:45.42.

Crague's teammate Nate Nunnelly (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) competed in the 1500m preliminaries earlier in the afternoon, but had to pull out of the race with an achillies injury.

Freshman Kristopher Schmautz (Missoula, Mont./Hellgate H.S.) will compete in the javelin on Saturday at 11 a.m. CDT. Schmautz was the Mid-Continent Conference Newcomer of the Year.
