Sophomore thrower Chris Stohs (Shawnee, Kan./Shawnee Mission North) has been named the U.S. Army Horizon League Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week after his performance last weekend at the DePauw Invitational.

Stohs registered two top-ten finishes on the infield for the Crusaders at the meet.  He placed sixth in the discus throw with a toss of 133’7”, a personal-best for the sophomore.  Stohs followed with a tenth-place showing in the hammer throw, recording a mark of 134’2”.

In the classroom, Stohs carries a 3.779 grade point average as a history major.  A member of the Fall 2007 Horizon League Academic Honor Roll, Stohs was named to the Mid-Continent Conference’s All-Academic Team following his freshman season.
