Valparaiso senior Andrew Rixon (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) has been named the Horizon League's Male Field Athlete of the Week after his performance in a pair of events last weekend in the season opener at IPFW.

Rixon took top honors in the first indoor meet of the year in the shot put, leading a field of 10 competitors with a mark of 48'2". The senior also took second place in the weight throw, trailing just teammate Jacob Frey, with a toss of 47'9 1/4".
