The Valparaiso University men's team was picked sixth in the Mid-Continent Conference preseason indoor track and field poll as selected by the conference head coaches.

Defending champion Oral Roberts was picked, followed by Southern Utah and Western Illinois in a second place tie. UMKC was tabbed fourth, followed by Chicago State and Valpo.

The Brown and Gold will be in action on Saturday afternoon at the Carthage Division I Invitational. The meet will begin at 11 a.m. in Carthage, Wis.
