Steve Bartholomew (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township H.S.) earned Athlete of the Year honors, while Erik Lindamood (Bealeton, Va./Liberty H.S.) was also named to the All-Conference squad for their performances at the 2006 Mid-Continent Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships last weekend.

Bartholomew became the first Crusader to take home the Athlete of the Year award after capturing two event titles at the championships. Bartholomew won the gold in the hammer throw on Thursday with his school-record toss of 189'7", and followed on Saturday by capturing the discus with a throw of 170'4", also a school record. Both marks also surpassed the NCAA regional standards, qualifying Bartholomew to compete at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. on May 26.

Lindamood received conference accolades as a freshman after an impressive showing in the shot put. Lindamood recorded a mark of 49'1 ¾", good for third place in the event.
