Steve Bartholomew (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township) was named the Horizon League’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week today after his performance during the first weekend of outdoor competition.

The senior won two events at the Ted Haydon Invitational in Chicago, Ill., helping lead the Crusaders to a third-place team finish.  Bartholomew took top honors in the discus throw with a toss of 166’0” and the hammer throw with a mark of 182’4”.  His toss in the discus was more than 22 feet past the runner-up, while his mark in the hammer was over 36 feet farther than the second-place performance.
