The Valpo baseball team opens the 2005 season on Friday against Akron at the Austin Peay Invitational in Clarksville, Tenn. beginning at 11 a.m. CT. Friday's game begins a nine-game Spring Trip.

The Crusaders will continue the round-robin invitational on Saturday against Austin Peay at 2 p.m. and then oppose Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Sunday at 11 a.m. to conclude the weekend.

Following Sunday's game, Valpo travels to Bradenton, Fla. to play six more games. The Crusaders play Seton Hall (March 2, 3 p.m.), Northeastern (March 3, 10 a.m.), Air Force (March 4, 2:30 p.m.), Lehigh (March 6, 2:30 p.m.), Bowling Green (March 7, 10 a.m.) and Eastern Kentucky (March 9, 10:30 a.m.).
